For me, preserving craft, technique, and material memory has always been at the heart of what I do at Y’WANDE. Many of my processes begin through experimentation; collecting off-cuts, revisiting old fabrications, testing artisanal methods, and allowing pieces to evolve naturally over time.

As part of this ongoing exploration, I’ve begun creating a series of one-off archival wall hangings developed from past textiles, fabric remnants, and handcrafted studies produced within the studio. Each piece feels like a continuation of the brand’s design language — documenting process, texture, and technique in a more permanent form.

The first series was created using old textiles discovered during one of my visits to the market, fabrics that immediately felt important to preserve. Working with these materials became a way of documenting older fabrications and honoring the histories embedded within them, while also contributing to the preservation of traditional textile culture through a new contemporary form.

These works are entirely singular and will not be reproduced. They exist as fragments of an evolving archive, created while I continue exploring new fabric manipulations and artisanal expressions within the studio.
